Across the Pond
Downingtown now has a sister city in the United Kingdom. In the early 18th century, Downingtown namesake Thomas Downing II left the small town of Bradninch, Devon for the New World. Three hundred years later, East Brandywine Township’s Ryan Roe connected the mayors of both cities to sign a formal sister city agreement, which aims to “promote international goodwill and understanding between the two cities and their respective nations.” The rest, as they say, is history!
