Good to Know: May 2026

Written by County Lines Magazine

Just a few things we’d thought you’d like to know this month

Game On

Tune in to the 2026 PGA Championship, May 11 to 17 at Newtown Square’s Aronimink Golf Club. Watch 156 of the world’s greatest golfers — including returning champ Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau — vie for the Wanamaker Trophy. Aronimink is the first course to host all three of the PGA of America’s rotating major championships — part of the America250 celebrations also bringing the FIFA World Cup and MLB All-Star Game to Philadelphia. Lukens Legacy

Congratulations to Chester County Community Foundation CEO and President Karen Simmons, winner of the 20th annual Rebecca Lukens Award. The National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum presents the award each year to an individual who exemplifies the qualities of pioneering woman ironmaster Rebecca Lukens: resilience, leadership, courage and strategic outlook. Celebrate Simmons on May 14, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Lukens Historic District. SteelMuseum.org

Local Legends

Calling all sports fans! Catch a special Chester County Sports Hall of Fame exhibit at the Chester County Welcome Center in the Historic Courthouse. See memorabilia, autographs and stories from local legends, including former Eagles coach Dick Vermeil, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir and the Immaculata University “Mighty Macs.” On view through the end of the month. 21 W.
