July 4th celebrations across the Brandywine Valley

This week, we spotted celebrations for America’s 250th!

Despite the evening ending in bad weather, patriots across the Brandywine Valley celebrated Independence Day in style.

Valley Forge National Historical Park celebrated America’s 250th, and the park’s 50th anniversary, with a whole weekend of festivities.

Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead honored the day with a reading of the Declaration of Independence — and by burning an effigy of King George III.

There were even fireworks before the storm rolled in, like in Narberth.

Though July 4 has passed, the America250 celebrations continue all year long. Find more events this month in our guide.
