Chesco 250 planning summit at Thornbury Farm
This week, we spotted local notables, musical guests and lots of strategizing at the Chesco250 planning summit.
Representatives from many local organizations gathered at Thornbury Farm on a sunny Friday morning for a day of brainstorming in preparation for the 250th anniversary of our nation. The day started with a panel discussion with elected officials, including State Senator Carolyn Comitta. The panel was followed by presentations from groups working within each of Chesco250’s four heritage themes — Agricultural Bounty & Natural Landscapes, Iron, Steel & Industry, the Philadelphia Campaign and Path to Freedom.
After the presentations, Stephen Lyons performed an original song about Shiloh AME Church & Cemetery. Then attendees gathered over a working lunch to generate ideas and plan for 2026 and beyond!
