Humane Pennsylvania kicks off fee-waived "12 Days of Adoptions"

Humane Pennsylvania is offering fee-waived pet adoptions as part of their annual sponsored “12 Days of Adoptions” event, in hopes of clearing the shelters and finding a home for every shelter pet in their care this holiday season.

From Friday, December 13, through Tuesday, December 24, adoption fees will be waived for potential adopters looking to bring a shelter pet home for the holidays, thanks to the generosity of participating sponsors, including Guthrie Dental, Ty & Tina Shank, Summit Advisory Investment Banking, Berks Pet Care, Riverfront Federal Credit Union, Blazing Technologies, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, Customers Bank, Penn Pride and Urso Financial Management & Consulting.

Since 2018, Humane Pennsylvania’s 12 Days of Adoptions promotion has found loving forever homes for over 500 animals in need.

Adopters wishing to provide a forever home for shelter animals are encouraged to visit the shelter campuses or HumanePA.org. All potential adopters are required to go through Humane Pennsylvania’s diligent adoption screening process (approval is not guaranteed). Some exclusions may apply.

Adoptions include:

  • Humane Pennsylvania’s 30-day Adoption Health Supplement
  • Spaying or neutering (before adoption)
  • Vaccinations (including current rabies vaccination) and de-worming medication
  • Flea treatment
  • Microchipping and chip registration
  • Free 1 lb. bag of Science Diet pet food

Read on for two adoptable animals that need a home this holiday season.

Yellow King

Hi, I’m Yellow King! I’m a 2-year-old guy who might seem a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’ll show you my sweet side. It just takes me a little time to come out of my shell. I love curling up in cozy, covered beds where I can feel extra secure. If you’re patient and looking for a calm, loyal companion, I’m your guy! Let’s take our time and get to know each other.

Mrs. Frank

Hi, I’m Mrs. Frank! I’m a sweet and sophisticated red-eared slider, about 13 years young. I have a big appetite for life — and for tasty treats like small fish and shrimp! I do need a little extra care because of some calcium deficiency, so a high-calcium diet and some cuttlebone to grind my beak on are a must for me. With the right setup and love, I’ll thrive and be the happy, healthy turtle you deserve!

If you’re ready for a graceful and endearing friend who’ll bring calm and charm to your life, I’m ready to make a splash in your home. Let’s meet soon!
