Shakespeare in Love at People’s Light—Feb. 26–Mar. 29
Most high school graduates have read at least one Shakespeare play—but what do we know about the man, the myth, the legend, … Shakespeare himself? Well, we do know about the fictional life of Shakespeare, as told by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard in the 1998 Academy Award-winning film Shakespeare in Love. Now adapted for the stage, the play tells the story of a young Shakespeare breaking through his writer’s block when he meets Viola de Lesseps, a wealthy merchant’s daughter with dreams of the stage. Are you imagining a young Gwyneth?
See this funny, passionate story about a love affair that becomes the inspiration for the iconic Romeo and Juliet. Showtimes and tickets online. More at PeoplesLight.org.
