“Dog Days of Summer” Adoption Weekend & Thrifty Kitty Flea Market

Written by County Lines Magazine

Humane Pennsylvania and partners host adoption events July 11 to 13

Humane Pennsylvania is kicking off the summer with a weekend full of wagging tails, sweet whiskers and fabulous finds! From Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 13, join them for the Dog Days of Summer Adoption Weekend, sponsored by Lancaster Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical.

Adoption fees will be fully covered for eligible pets (dogs, cats and critters over 6 months old) all weekend long at the Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving in Reading and Betsy & Ted Lewin Adoption Center for Cats & Critters in Lancaster.

Extra Weekend Fun at the Lancaster Campus

On Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13, The Thrifty Kitty Thrift Boutique, located just next door, will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds benefit animals and programs of Humane PA, so every purchase makes a difference!

On Sunday July 13, only, The Thrifty Kitty Flea Market will be set up just outside the Lancaster Adoption Center — a treasure-hunter’s dream!

On Saturday, July 12, the Brandywine Valley SPCA will be hosting their Summer Bash from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., located inside the Spike & Tilly’s Pet Resort building at Humane PA’s Lancaster campus. Dog adoption fees will be just $25 during this event — just follow the “DOG” signs to visit their kennels. Please note: This event is separate from Humane PA’s adoption weekend. Only cats and critters over 6 months old are eligible for free adoption fees from July 11 to 13.
